Thanks for the explanation. I do have a pretty good grasp on the American Political System because my wife is American and politically active. I’m not trying to explain what America needs… Mostly I’m venting frustration at the current situation. And I totally get that neither Party has an interest in changing the system because it would dilute their power… we have the same situation in Canada. We run First Past the Post as well, though we have 5 political parties that hold seats in Parliament. Almost 2 party though, because we have 2 Major ones and 3 “other guys”. But that’s the big thing! If you’re a Lefty (or a Righty) but you don’t like the candidate for PM your usual party is putting up… there is another party! You have someone else to vote for! Aaanywho, appreciate the constructive reply. Yeah I get it. It’s just incredibly frustrating to watch.

Ranked Choice would be SO much better 😭😭 It just obviously blends everyone's votes together better to actually find a middle ground. I mean that of course in NORMAL conditions, not natzism. That should have 0 platform, obvs.

We have a multiparty system in Canada but the only two parties that ever win federally is libs or cons. Both fuck us on the regular
