@getmomstrong: You feel deadlifts everywhere EXCEPT your glutes? These hacks about to change the glute game for you! Yes… I’m once again asking you to imagine you have a flashlight in your butthole. 😂 It works. Trust. The goal of a hinge isn’t to squat down. It’s to send your hips BACK while keeping your ribs stacked and your spine relatively quiet. Think: shine the flashlight at the wall behind you. 🔦 Then try these 3 hacks: 1️⃣ Wall feedback Stand a few inches in front of a wall and push your butt back until you tap it. This teaches you to create the movement from your HIPS instead of bending your knees and turning your hinge into a squat. 2️⃣ Single-leg wall hinge Same idea, but now one leg has to control the movement. This is SO good for learning hip control without twisting or opening your pelvis. 3️⃣ Band around the hips Anchor a band and let it pull your hips back. Your job is to resist it by extending your hips open by squeezing your glutes. This helps you learn the hinge by feeling that gentle pull back and teaches glute activation by forcing those suckers to squeeze at the top! A good hinge should feel like: hips back → hamstrings load → glutes drive you forward. Not: knees forward → squat-ish thing → lower back wondering why it has to do all the work. 😂 Master the pattern first. THEN add weight. Save this for your next deadlift/RDL day — and send it to the friend who swears hinges “only work their back.” #fittips #glutegains
