Brought into religion as a child, from age 2 that I absolutely remember, taught fear and damnation. Started my own journey with love, understanding, compassion, empathy and a knowing that we are all a part of everything that is. I will never stop learning or asking questions but I am at peace with who I am. I will always strive to be a better person and improve where needed. Love and Light ❤️

There were a few quite fearful things. Eternal Hellfire, being baptized to "show" everyone I really believed and was saved, and the "Rapture" and being left behind if you weren't prayed up. All based on Fear. Later in my 20's forward it started to become a different lifetime journey.

I left the church many many many years ago. A very good friend of mine just a few years ago was deeply involved in a little southern Baptist church and would rag on me constantly about coming one Sunday...so finally my wife & I went. I couldn't tell you what the sermon was about but somewhere along the line the percentage of the offering came into the sermon. He had the gull to look directly at my wife & I and say the church doesn't get 5%, not 7% not 9% but 10% !!! 😳 There were a few yes & amens about the congregation. Well buddy.....that was it for me!!! I already had my own thoughts about churches. But that just told me what I already knew! That was the only church service for me in the past 60 years. 😡 I'm just fine without it. 😉 😁

yes I was told to accept Jesus so he could forgive me of my sins. I know now that it wasn't so simple. We have to live as he did.

The formula....worked on fear.....you have so nailed this whole thing!! Say the prayer, get in the water, get your name in the book...fire insurance......so true, this is what I grew up seeing and hearing. Fantastic message in this video.

I walked into a baptist church alone and out of over 100 people there only 1 person had a conversation with me. I thought going to church was a good way to meet people in a new area. I moved from delaware to mississippi with no family or friends. But people are very nice here

I didn't really think about "salvation" while going to church. But I do remember that to be "saved" you had to follow Jesus' teachings & accept him as your one & only Lord. Now I know salvation is a journey & we all are are on our own separate paths.
