OVR Omara :

we've been working on bringing scent into digital spaces for over 8 years and we're finally going to the market with a gaming peripheral called the Omara which releases this year!! Our kickstarter ended a few months ago and those backers are receiving their devices in a few weeks. The single replace cassette inside of the Omara holds 16 scents with each scent capable of triggering a minimum of 3000-5000 times. Any 3 of these 16 scents can be mixed to make a lot of combinations (16^3). Translated to gaming hours about 100-120 of scented gameplay and will be $20-40 to replace. All of our scents abide by IFRA and EU allergen standards and regulations which is what most conventional shampoo, lotion, deodorant, etc products go through. This Minecraft mod (Aroma Affect) is 1 of the ~30 compatible games we support. We provide devs with unity and unreal plug ins that integrate scent directly into their games so you won't lag. The integration process is very similar to audio and simple to learn! We have a stardew valley mod coming next week. our shop will also open next week where you can pre-order and purchase an Omara for $499 that will ship towards the end of this year. yes, it is compatible with VR. (Our company name is OVR for olfactory virtual reality because we used to be in the VR space)
