They are hoping for 2 outcomes here and both are equally likely tbh. First outcome is their preferred outcome and it is where ai and robotics advance enough to the point where the 0.5% can pull an elysium and essentially subjugate the world. Second option is they use trump and his crony government to bankrupt the usa by buying out/ paying off all the investors who kept inflating the bubble until it burst (same as housing market crash). Both outcomes end with mass human suffering and the money men walking away richer than they were yesterday
