🚨🪼 EVERYONE KEEPS ASKING ME THE SAME QUESTION: “HOW BAD ARE THE JELLYFISH IN OCEAN CITY RIGHT NOW?” Well… watch the video. 👀 That should pretty much answer the question. This is Ocean City right now, and as you can see, basically NO ONE is swimming in the ocean. And it’s not because the water is cold. 😂 🪼🪼🪼 IT’S THE JELLYFISH. I see people asking almost every day what the jellyfish situation is like in Ocean City, so here’s what I’m seeing firsthand. The ocean water warmed up faster than it normally does for this time of year, and YES… there are A LOT of jellyfish right now. They’re in the bay. They’re in the ocean. And there are even a ton of them washing up onto the sand along the shoreline. And before someone asks… YES, THESE THINGS STING. And YES… IT SUCKS. 😂 So if you’re already vacationing in Ocean City or coming down over the next couple of weeks, I’m definitely NOT saying don’t come to the beach. Ocean City is still incredible right now. ☀️🏖️ But I would personally try to find a section of beach with a POOL close by. That way you can still spend the day relaxing on the beach, enjoying the sun and ocean views… and when you want to actually get in the water, you can jump in a pool without playing jellyfish roulette. 😂🪼 If you’re around downtown Ocean City, there’s a great pool at the Plim Plaza around 2nd Street that’s open to customers. And one of my personal favorites is the pool at the Tidelands Caribbean Hotel around 4th Street. It’s open to the public for customers, and they have incredible food and drinks too. 🍹🍔🏊‍♂️ ONE MORE THING because apparently we’ve all been lied to by movies and TV our entire lives… 😂 🚫 DO NOT PEE ON A JELLYFISH STING. That’s a myth. Urine can actually cause remaining stinging cells to fire and potentially release MORE venom because the salt concentration and pH of urine can vary. Instead: 🌊 Rinse the area with SEAWATER, not fresh water. 🪼 Carefully remove any visible tentacles with tweezers or something protecting your hands. ♨️ Soak the area in comfortably hot — NOT scalding — water for roughly 20–45 minutes. 🚫 And don’t rub or scrape the sting. Obviously, if someone has a severe reaction, trouble breathing, chest pain, major swelling or feels faint, get medical help immediately. So there you have it… THE OCEAN CITY JELLYFISH REPORT. 😂🪼🌊 They’re definitely here. There are definitely a lot of them. And they definitely sting. But don’t let that ruin your vacation. Enjoy the beach, grab some food and drinks, find yourself a good pool nearby and make the best of it. ☀️🍹🏖️ 👇 IF YOU’RE IN OCEAN CITY RIGHT NOW, COMMENT BELOW WITH WHAT YOU’RE SEEING! What street are you on, and are the jellyfish just as bad there? Let’s turn the comments into a LIVE JELLYFISH REPORT so everyone coming to Ocean City knows which parts of the beach are better or worse right now. 🪼🌊 And SHARE THIS with anyone heading to Ocean City over the next couple of weeks! #OceanCityMD #OceanCityMaryland #OCMD #Jellyfish #OceanCityBeach
