i think team black loyalists forget that they killed HER BABY. and i dont wanna hear the “rhaenyra lost lucerys to aemond” bc helaena had nothing to do with it nor would she have supported it. she didn’t want to be queen, she didn’t want to be married to aegon, she is a victim of otto and viserys directly. In her mind, rhaenyra will always be the woman who had jahaerys killed right in front of her.

helaena’s death is really making me see how hard it is for people to have nuanced conversations about characters. i saw someone say on a post that said helaena deserved what she got that they were sad about her and another person called them a disgusting person for it ITS A SHOW it’s not real and like of all the characters to have beef with HELAENA is at the bottom of my list

I wanna express something about Helaena that others missed about that first scene: When she tells Rhaenyra about the insect that comes out during Summer (or Spring), it isn't to say a fact to say a fact. She mentioned the bug because, like the people she — Rhaenyra — doesn't notice are like that bug; unnoticed, seemingly useless. That's why Helaena calls her and everything she cares about as ugly. Some of you guys watch scenes without a lick of understanding.

Both sides are wrong thats the whole point the show makes it too much pro team black. Rhaeneyra was a terrible leader and her anger over being done dirty made her a power hungry person herself. Her passing really reminded me of the painting Ophelia from Hamlet by John Everett. Like Ophelia, Helaena passing feels like a quiet surrender, not to just pass on but to have some sense of peace after too much grief. Both carried so much they didn’t choose, and in that final moment b4 it might felt to them like the first moment that truly belonged to them.
