So that’s a dachshund which has a high genetic rate of ivdd. They aren’t the only breed. Every breed has genetic issues they are susceptible of, and with backyard breeders being the majority, and no overhead on who can breed - your options are : vote to change that and make sure there’s not random ppl breeding sick animals. And to what, euthanize every animal with a high genetic likelihood? If you got hit by a bus and became paralyzed below the waist - are you saying you’d rather just be killed instead of learn to live life a little differently? This is the standard of care, working to make what’s necessary for disabilities accessible would benefit you both apparently.
