Keep an eye on the skies tomorrow evening, as West Norfolk gets the chance to see one of the most impressive solar eclipses visible from the UK in decades. On Wednesday 12 August, the Moon will pass in front of the Sun, creating a partial solar eclipse. From our part of Norfolk, around 90% of the Sun is expected to be covered at its peak. ⏰ Approximate West Norfolk timings: 🌒 Eclipse begins: 6.15pm ☀️ Maximum eclipse: 7.11pm 🌘 Eclipse ends: 8.04pm Unlike the areas experiencing a total eclipse, it won't become completely dark here, but with so much of the Sun covered there could be a noticeable change in the light as the eclipse reaches its maximum. The Sun will also be getting lower in the sky as the evening progresses, so somewhere with a clear view towards the west could give you the best chance of seeing it.
