the national guard is here in crooksville and roseville with rescues because SO many people have no where to go and we are currently waiting on another storm that’s bringing 2-4 more inches of rain along with dangerous winds up to 80 mph. our community is working hard to ensure that everyone is safe and has what they need for the meantime

My aunt lives in Crooksville. Her house flooded exactly 365 days ago today. Her house was deemed a total loss due to this mornings flood. It’s heartbreaking 😢

so history lesson. the reason why ohio floods so much and so often is way back the majority of ihio was one part of a massive swamp land. it's was called the northern everglades. but farmers and local governments drained the swamp for more land. techically.all of Ohio is a flood zone. but insurance companies only cover areas with a certain number if floods in the last century and a defined depth.

Most of these homes flooded weren’t in flood zones and did not have flood insurance. So many of my friends lost their homes and businesses. 💔 so very sad! Some of these places were prone to flooding previously but most the area impacted was not.
