I work front desk… this is real. It’s rare but it’s real. Luckily most guests call ahead of days to ask if the room could be available earlier than check in. They are ok with leaving the luggage and come back later for check in. It sucks tho overall

One time a guy came in at 3am and asked for a cheap room, I didn’t have it. Told him the price was around $200 because it was a double bed so he asked for a discount because it was 3am and wasn’t staying long. Obviously i told him no and he told me he owned a hotel in New York and showed me the cameras and his night shift staff. I was unbothered and sent him to a cheap motel 😂
