AC compressor is most likely bad. It’s typical on the Santa Fe it it’s a common issue. It’s only 260 for a compressor from rock auto.

Facts Don't Care :
so the ac system is a closed unit. if it's low or empty you have a leak period.

Also that's a problem. Overcharge will cause it not to work

Austin Gilghrist :
1. Check the fuse. 2. Check the AC pressure switch. If that doesn’t get the AC compressor to turn on then you have a bad AC compressor.

Not sure how I got here, but I’m on this journey with you. What’s the status of the AC?

With the amount of money spent could have gone to a local shop and have them diagnose it for like a hundred bucks 🤦♂️

umm i might be wrong but this is a 2 step process theres a machine that pressurizes the system and fills it up if you do 1 and not the other it ruins certain parts of the vehicale

Never use that item, it’s not a solution!! You need an actual mechanic to find the leak in your A/C system and repair the damage that caused the refrigerant to leak out in the first place. A/C is a closed system and the refrigerant never just goes away naturally and needs to be refilled. It leaked out somewhere and adding more refrigerant without repairing the system just makes the problem worse to clean up when it eventually fails completely

I’m a service advisor for an auto shop here in Nevada and I had a lady come in for an ac inspection. Come to find out she tried this and bursted a line (at least created a leak somewhere) and had lost all her refrigerant. $1200 bill after my manager discounted labor.

AC refrigerant never gets low randomly just means there's a leak in the system also it's over filled.

Coming from a mechanic PLEASE stop putting this stuff in your car. If you’re not educated on which type of refrigerant you need you can mess up our machines and it costs thousands sometimes you have them repaired. If you’re going to put it in make sure it has NO SEALER !

don't refill it, it's a closed system that means there's a leak if it's low, go to a shop

Can you hear the compressor kick on? I believe that’s your issue if not then look into blend door actuators

Sam :
If you need to refill it it means you probably have a leak. The system is a closed system which means you are not supposed to have the need to refill unless it’s leaking. In that case you need to fix that first before refilling.
