@whatilovetodo: 🥤 Cup Saga: Part 4! 😂 We’re trying the snug straw this time, and it’s a little longer than the others we’ve tried. We’re still testing it, but I honestly don’t think it’s going to work unless I can find a different cup. So… the hunt continues! 🔎 My son Griffin has Angelman Syndrome and he is a MASTER Houdini. 😂 He loves getting into everything and escaping everythingwhich is truly part of the syndrome. We’re just trying to find a cup he can’t figure out! If you have a cup or setup that has worked for your little Houdini, PLEASE tell me about it! 👇 #AngelmanSyndrome #SpecialNeedsParenting #AdaptiveEquipment #CupSaga #parentinghacks

i use a hydro jug and they have smaller ones but i can never get mine open but you put something over the top. it would be hard for him to hold the top.

Do you think opening it in front of him and demonstrating is helping the problem or does he understand that he shouldn’t do it and is being cheeky? I’m sorry about the question but I don’t really know much about angelman syndrome. You guys have such a beautiful family 😊💕

What about just a silicone cup cover? Then just hole punch a small hole in the center for the straw and place on the cup (like the ones in this video )

Please don’t use a balloon or a glove- my husband is a firefighter and he literally has made runs on kids that ☠️from choking on a glove and a balloon!

Infantino my first tumbler. It’s only about 300ml so doesn’t hold much but if he can get the lid off that I want lessons because that thing is HARD to open.

Try the balloon idea again but instead cut the bottom and use the top of the balloon to put the straw thru

Would something like this work. If you pulled it to the top and cover the lid. Idk maybe he would just take it off to.

I keep seeing comments about hydrojug and I agree! I can’t open my water bottle half of the time. If you screw it tight enough it’s nearly impossible to open 🤣 Might work out in your favor!

Easier said than done but I’m thinking some form of 3D printed item which would allow to use a like caribener or mini padlock to cover where the join is but that would almost need to be custom not too hard to design but you’d need access to be able to print it

The handled cup. Cut a slit in the cover and slide it over the handle first then over the top of the cup. Will also prevent it turning?

Buy a glass tumbler that comes with a silicone sleeve. Remove the sleeve from the tumbler and put it on his cup. Maybe upside down with a tiny hole for his straw.

This cup doesn’t have a big rim, so you can put the cover over it

Have you tried getting some of the silicone sleeves that go on the bottom of cups/bottles to protect them, & just making a spot in the center for a straw ? ESP since they are normally longer than the regular ones for tops so they could go down further on the cup

you can pop off the handle by lightly hitting it with a hammer
