Couldn’t have said it better myself! I live in Indiana and my best friend lives in Atlanta. I met this dude on the PS3 back in 2005. He knows more about me than anyone in my life besides my wife. My kids call him uncle Tim because I call him my brother I call his wife my sister. I tell this dude all the time that I love him. I’ve met him in person 1 time and it was the greatest 5 mins ever. When I tell people about him and that he’s black I get looked at weird because I’m white. Race don’t mean anything to me. I have a ton of good friends from gaming but mine and Tim’s relationship is one of family and I’m would trust him with any of my family members and with my deepest darkest thoughts and secrets. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having good friends that aren’t in another part this country or anywhere in the world!

I’ve got a buddie I met here on TikTok we’ve now been friends for over 2yrs he’s been my closest best friend since then and we talk daily about random things and he’s in Ohio I’ve got maybe 2 friends in person 1 just up the road from me and the other 1 like 30mins from in the next town and they’ve all Been awesome and I’m proud to call them my friends. You sir are awesome for handling like an adult keep going man.

I met my best friend years ago on Xbox 360. Still remember the night. Dude was cool we just hit it off. Everyday for 15 years we got on played chatted about life. We talked about break ups I remember when he would yell for his mom to make a sandwich and me telling him my mom would slap me for yells for her to do that. I remember when he lost his mom. Remember the break ups and losses I had and every time he was there. My family didn’t understand how I could be friends with someone states away but it was the gaming that brought us together. We had friends come and go but us we always was there for each other. We had plans to meet up he was talking about moving to my state to get away from his. But about 3 years ago now I lost him to a motorcycle accident. Person wasn’t paying attention ran a red light and hit him and his gf. It killed him instantly and his girl was badly injured. Just like that my buddy was gone. Forever offline. His family sent me a few of his things cause they knew how much we ment to each other. But man….. gaming hasn’t been the same and will never be the same. But never let someone say you can’t have real friends on video games. They don’t know what they’re talking about.

I completely agree! They are more real cause without the physical face to face you get the genuine person. People say that you can pretend to be anything online. True to an extent… but most don’t cause why do you need to? A lot of the time people feel more comfortable being just themselves without fear of fitting in or being rejected in person. Communication, connection, and interaction regardless is meaningful no matter if it’s face to face or online. Love this! Thank you for sharing ❤️

I met my best friend in the whole world on Xbox 360. We were only 30 miles apart from each other, spoke everyday on the phone and met up at least 10 times per year. He’s dead now, but my god, did we make a difference in each others lives.
