My father is an alcoholic, I spent my childhood wondering why I wasn’t enough for him to choose sobriety. It’s watching you work to give your son the sober healed version of yourself. My husband and I both come from someone who abused and cheated. The first year we decided to be open and honest even if it hurt our feelings. After living together a year I knew without a shadow of a doubt. That he would never hurt me. He also felt the same. We both healed in counseling together. I can pick up his phone and use it with out having to think is he cheating on me. I have really bad ptsd. He is my calm person. My anger is something I’m continuously working on. I still keep my promise I made to him when he promised himself to me and we just celebrated 13 years. Now I’m going to school to be a counselor and a peer recovery coach. I love to help others. Side note your makeup is beautiful. My little sister is bi polar. I taught her she is more than just that.I’m so glad you came on my fyp. 💕

it's one thing to know their traumas. but another thing to use it as an excuse for shit behavior that happens within a relationship. and to me big red flag is asking about traumas in the beginning of the - getting to know - phase. so they end up knowing too much and use that against you / push buttons
