This. I had the normal hormonal dump when I had both kids. Emotional. Very unsure of myself with my first (new mom…no clue what I was doing) and my MIL kept putting seeds of PPD in my husbands head….so she was not invited back to stay with us when I had my second 🙈 she also overstepped a lot of boundaries 😂 I was not prepared to have to fight and defend myself against my own husband. He definitely learned his lesson fast though.

Thank you for saying this! I had PPD and PPA and I developed severe OCD after having my son too. It is SO hard and people have told me "every woman goes through that. You'll be fine"

As someone who suffered horrible pp anxiety and depression with my first child and was just postpartum (thankfully) after my second…I agree and glad you said this!

THIS!! Omg thank you for telling people this! I was talking to someone about postpartum with my last baby and she looked at me and said “aww you had postpartum 🥲” and I was so confused. Realized later she probably thought I meant postpartum depression?

I think it’s important that we address the issue that postpartum depression is not talked about enough. Many women feel like they can’t talk about it. That people are just going to think they’re crazy or they are scared to talk about it. It’s a very scary thing to go through.

I'm 36 y/o and currently pregnant with my second after 16 years 😅 back when he was born everyone would say "postpartum depression" specifically. So in my mind if I don't hear something after postpartum I assume it's just the healing afterbirth but I have to admit I'm hearing the term being thrown around in a negative way. Interesting how things change 🤔

yes i was listening to a podcast where they were discussing the importance of seeking help when you need it during the postpartum phase and they kept referring to experiencing any form of mental disorders durring the pp phase as "postpartum" example " With my second baby I experienced postpartum" but they were referring to pp anxiety and depression
