Maybe it’s my neurodivergence, but I don’t get how people don’t already know the whole 50’s era is a myth? I remember arguing with my mom about social activism and how the 50’s myth is oppressive to women and Black people. She just screamed at me that I couldn’t understand because I wasn’t there. Mind you, this woman experienced all the things that should’ve radicalized her way more than me. But nope! There she was defending the very ideals that put her through hell. I guess patriarchy really is that motherfcker!
