Sometimes my pain is so bad I can’t get comfortable… I try my hardest because I also have Myasthenia Gravis & my neurologist said resting is the best way for me to get out of a flare. I end up going to the ER. My neurologist put a stabilization protocol in my “chart” for the ER to follow.

I have never been able to stay in bed. Even if I’m hurting. I just keep going. Bite my tongue. But by 4pm my head is so heavy I can’t lift it and I end up sitting on my bed on my heating pad until I fall asleep at like 11pm

I’ve been suffering with really painful back spasms and advice given was to walk around and not sit down for too long….. I’m a full time wheelchair user so figure that one out!😭

During a flare, it drives me mad. I want or need to do something and I will hobble my way outside and end Up walking around the garden very slowly and coming in again without doing anything but as they say intentions are good. 😂😂Ps that was my day today.

The last three weeks I’m struggling with a bowel obstruction but sitting still makes the pain more intense. Moving stimulates the bowels. But I’ve also had two very scary health problems that make me want to just sleep. I’ve had a TIA ( mini stroke) and sepsis. So I force myself to move then take a short nap. My journey has changed making things much harder but I refuse to just quit, moving a little keeps me physically active, mentally active mixed with rest💕💕

I made the mistake of thinking that staying in bed for extended periods of time would help me heal. I ended up losing muscle mass and now my legs are very weak and it’s difficult to walk. Listen to this gentleman!

Are you familiar with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder? Because I have days where literally I wake up like 'OMG Idk what I did but I feel great!' - *puts feet on floor to get out of bed* - Nevermind. 😳
But equally I can have days just the opposite and after 30 mins of moving, despite the agony, it actually unlocks everything and no the pain doesn't stop, but it becomes alot more bareable. Problem is I don't know what it's gonna be till I wake up and even then, how I feel upon waking isn't always a reliable source of information. 😒

It’s so true! MS for decades has thrashed my joints so I sit (Native American) style. But I stretch my legs out and roll my ankles and knees. Then go back. Rolling shoulders is hard for me because they hurt almost as bad as my neck. I use a chair for slow,Taichi. It might hurt for an hour or so, but then I feel reallly good for me. I take my pain meds ahead of time and I should add it’s only 10-15 min of movement. Sometimes 5 min of min is all I can do too. Even rolling my ankles. I understand pain. 4 decade of MS has taught me (I’m not being a pick me girl-old lady. Hehe) a body that moves keeps moving and a body that does not move, will not when you need it to. And one more thing. Idk who God put this on my heart for, but please don’t leave our devices to charge while we are gone or home for too long. Because most of us aren’t runners. Our animals won’t leave us either. Thank you 😊

Yes! I found this out the hard way! but a question. how do I find a physical therapist who can help me realize that movement is ok. like, retaining my brain while moving. is there a phrase or words that might send me in the right direction when searching for the right PT?

Agree, with the postdrome stage of my migraines I find doing quite physical housework actually helps relieve the pain a bit
