Before hitting the poor guy, the suspect drove by the girl and the guy as they were talking outside, swerving pass them, to intimidate/scare them most likely. He then followed Langdon, the motorcyclist, in the parking lot and intentionally hit him, where he was flung into a metal pole. The girl told police that she never dated Sorensen, so it was not even his ex gf. He was just obsessed with her.
