This has happened to others before where they bought a designer handbag and got it verified through vinted authentication saying it was an authentic piece but when they ended up wanting to sell it, vinted flagged it as counterfeit which resulted in them making a loss

first of all, a fake item shouldn't pass the authentication process. Second, if it's deemed fake by a third party the seller / marketplace should re-verify the item. In many cases, buyers were left out of pocket because the case will be closed by vinted.
