I'm from Texas. silver falls is on my list of places I want to visit. today we hiked Marymere falls and took the mount storm king trail. there is a respect you need to maintain for nature. I'm sorry to this man's family for their loss. I hope that his story helps keep someone else safe.

I was a park ranger there for several years and this is a common occurrence because nobody likes to read signs. It’s very sad going through this. That’s why I enforced the rules all the time and seem like a jerk and a mall cop. Just be safe who goes and follow the signs. We don’t like pulling bodies out. 😢

I was at a falls near Mt Baker in WA and they had a sign will all the names and ages of those who fell and died right at the fence. I think Silver Falls should do the same given how many people have fallen there
