Unfortunately, many people have no idea. People don’t realize that hermit crabs can live for decades with proper care and that bringing one home is a serious commitment — not an impulse purchase for a beach vacation. People simply don’t know what they don’t know, and I’m here to change that! These animals deserve so much better than being treated like disposable souvenirs. Please share this. Talk about it. I just got to hermit crabs from a beach store and I have a 20 gallon tank setup for them, and it's not properly set up yet and it doesn't have enough sand, but I think both of them are already molting, what should I do?? I need help!!

They should be charged with cruelty to animals. Of you left your dog in the car for 3 minutes they'd smash your window, take your dog, and arrest or charge you with animal abuse. I guess crabs don't matter to them

I have a question one of my hermit crabs was molting for a few weeks and then came up to the surface but is lethargic and inside its shell for days. Before he molted I also gave them egg shells, worm castings, and green sand. I also have oils out and feed them a balance diet. I just don’t understand. Could it be stressed out from molting?

We have had our hermit crabs for almost 4 months. When we switched them to a bigger tank they immediately when down to molt. It’s been like 2.5 months and we haven’t seen them. Nothing smells but we’re getting worried…
