I watched a customer have a completely full cart of purchases not be able to bring the cart outside the store, the staff expected them to hand carry multiple bags to their car and refused to assist in any way. The customer walked right back up to the counter, hand over the receipt and get a refund.

It’s not about theft, they just don’t want to pay someone to get the carts from the parking lot. Every business is understaffed and everyone is struggling to find a job because this is how businesses are run now, at the expense of the customer experience

They have this at some stores in the uk. but they only disable if you try to leave the perimeter of the car park. Makes sense that you might need to cart the stuff to your car first 😂
