Some of us look at the actions of certain Muslims and conclude that Islam itself is unfair to women but Islam should be judged by the Quran and the Sunnah not by those who fall short of them. Allah is perfectly Just, His rulings are based on perfect wisdom, even when they’re misunderstood or abused by people. If a Muslim man oppresses a woman, he is accountable before Allah. His wrongdoing is not evidence that Islam failed her. To the sisters who believe Islam doesn’t favor women, I say this with love: Don’t judge Allah’s perfect religion by the actions of imperfect people. If some Muslim men misuse the rights Allah gave them, they will answer to Him. Their oppression is not evidence that Islam is unjust. Allah is Al-Adl (The Most Just). Trust His wisdom, even when you don’t yet understand every ruling.
