From the little I’ve seen of her talking to the media, she would be well served to continue responding to every question with Mamdani-level discipline by turning every answer back to affordability issues. “There’s not one family in Wisconsin sitting down for dinner and discussing half-decade old tweets at night, but they are talking about the rising cost of groceries. The rising cost of gas. The rising cost of healthcare. The rising cost of housing. Etc., etc.,”

I’ve never really understood why the left is committed to rehabilitation “socialist” as label. I don’t really see it having any inherent value over just enacting socialist policies.

I think if she was simply just a “progressive” democrat instead of the dsa she would’ve won easily. People are just scared of the “socialist” label even though they most likely approve of their policies

I don’t think whenever a moderate dem wins a primary it’s because the individuals voting for them are only doing so apprehensively because they think that person is more electable. Normies are just voting for who they like

honest to god conservative democrats hate the “far left” more than fascists, they are so scared of their own tail they’d rather be a little fascist than a little far left

centrists and even right wing populists like democratic socialist policies if you dont slap the label on it. dropping the label while keeping the policy platform is the best thing the ambiguous democratic alliance can do

electibility is the biggest issue for so many democrats right now. Wanting Jon Ossoff, or Andy Beshear to run for president just because they won southern states, is their biggest argument. "If AOC is the candidate they'll lose worse than Kamala" Kamala ran as a moderate and still lost, does this mean Democrats should only ever run Trump like conservatives?

Just about all progressive policy when stripped of labels and presented on a values basis are agreed upon by a majority of moderates on both sides

It’s going to be interesting, as you note. A younger generation has changed the definition of the word to mean social responsibility. It’s not nearly as scary as it was 50 years ago.

Fr the way someone is determined electable is letting voters decide for themselves! The establishment is so counterproductive. They want to choose for us.
