It was a bug (SPOILER) adams model is the same model that is used in the fight against himself at the end of the game. When you are fighting him its impossible for you to hide and he is ,,seeing you" all the time. No he doesn't knew V was there.

i always used to talk to my friends about this, there is absolutely ZERO way he didn't see you and Jackie, always gave me chills how he just STARES at you in this scene but man, I love Adam Smasher he was such a bad ass character even if he did kill many beloved characters 😭
