I know people criticize Rosemary’s aunt May for being too old but she is my absolute favorite. She’s so vulnerable and sweet but you can tell where Peter gets his morals from. Any time she is upset it hurts my heart.

This also happens with MCU’s MJ that’s so blanddd, the Sam Raimi’s MJ is so flawed and we knew the depth of her character even more like her dream, motivation, & disappointment towards Peter so we can despise her.

ima be real mcu may doesn't even feel like she is related to Peter. They never talk about Ben with and sincerity, or his parents. She almost feels like a teacher that adopted her student. More than a mother figure with her own agency having to raise her nephew.
