@catherine_thegrace: This is why I make healing content because when you have the right tools to help you process all the emotions it makes all the difference ❤️🩹 #emotionallyimmaturemom #narcissisticmom #nocontact #healfromyourmom #toxicmomrecoveryguide
If you No Contact someone, they are going to be hurt. They are going to feel uncomfortable. I’m not saying not to do it or that it’s not needed. But part of No Contact is also owning that, by making that choice, even if it is for good, people are going to be hurt by your actions. It is not your job to regulate their emotions. But I do think it is important to acknowledge them being uncomfortable is also due to choices you made. And I had this asked of me when I No Contacted someone - Consider their position and if you were them. Wouldn’t you feel uncomfortable also? Not defending anybody. But giving perspective on a situation.

been no contact for 2 years with my parents. my daughter's graduation party is coming up soon. I have no idea what to do. I don't want them there, but if I invite other family members I know it will get back around to them that they weren't invited. they were once really close with my kids and us. my daughter doesn't care either way. there at the end, my parents really disrespected me and my family- I had huge health problems brought in by stress, and I think my kids realized that. they have not wanted to reconnect with their grandparents. any words of wisdom? advice?

Can I ask your advice? my step dad was diagnosed with an agressive lump in Oesophagus a few months ago, it wasnt until he was life flighted a month ago and almost died, that is was told. I drove to the hosptial to see him and my estranged mum promised to provide updates. it was hard to see them and I avoided the comments she made
I live 4 hours away and relied on updates but have had little response or just ignored completely. I still love them but since setting boundaries with my mum over a year ago and asking for accountability, the whole family have turned on me. I know i had to go low contact for myself and my kids... but it is heartbreaking that my whole family (2 sister and brother also) who want to sweep under the carpet and villanise me :/

Thank you for sharing so transparently in real time. I appreciate the fact that it is normal for things to be awkward when we’re in the presence of people that we have gone no contact with, but I also can definitely appreciate the fact that we can know that we’re healing went afterwards you don’t spiral out of control and have conversations with the imaginary people in your head or even out loud for the next few days. 😵💫. Not having a headache or other physical ailments as well is true signs of healing. This post was so empowering and confirming!!
