"corny" "dork" "male fantasy" and the type of people would say that is the people who never watched the anime,im not even saying go to read the ln even though its better than the anime but because of the memes everyone thinks Ayanokōji as a emotionless high school girl manipulator. Since these anime only people dont know, Ayanokōji was born and raised in a brutal environment making him strip his human empathy and emotions because of the survival instincts and the logic coming over his emotions. Ayanokōji has several internal monologues like: "I knew just how defective, just how foolish I was. I was a horrible human being." And in the latest volume (Y3V4) he confesses to a girl about loving her and makes another internal monologue about that he wants to move just once with his emotions and not logic driven. Any male nor female person wants to be like Ayanokōji if they really know his character because while every other fictional manipulators have goals and desires Ayanokōji is just using it for to gain freedom and a life where he doesn't have to have his guard up most of the time. All of these amazing writing goes to trash because how media possesses it.
