Those are definitely strict rules. Our oldest daughter is almost 21 and has lived on her own at college for 4 years now. She has no rules while at school and the only ones she has here at home are to ask before having someone spend the night ( just to make sure we don't have guests ourselves), and call or text if she will be stupid late or not coming home. Our youngest just turned 18 and has the same rules. I will say we don't allow boyfriends to spend the night or be here if we are not here. Both of our girls have a car and are free to go wherever they wish at any time.

The more independent you become, the more relaxed they become. Back when my parents payed for insurance and other stuff it was similar but now Im already in a lifelong career and my parents don’t pay anything, only thing is I live with them but I haven’t asked their permission for anything in a while, even buying cars and stuff. I’d suggest to become more independent and it’ll only get easier for you
