@demystifytheeye: 👁️ Spot on your eye? Let's talk about it. That flat brown patch on the white of the eye may be primary acquired melanosis (PAM) — a common pigmented change most often seen in fair-skinned, middle-aged and older adults. Most PAM is completely harmless. But some types can slowly change over time and, rarely, develop into conjunctival melanoma — a serious eye cancer. The catch? You often can't tell the difference just by looking. 🔍 ✨ What to watch for: • A new or growing brown/dark spot on the eye • Changes in color, size, or shape • Pigment that becomes thicker or raised 👩‍⚕️ The good news: when caught early, these spots are very treatable. Regular eye exams and photos help us track any changes over time — and a quick biopsy can tell us exactly what we're dealing with. If you've noticed a pigmented spot on your eye, don't wait and wonder. Book an eye exam. 📅 #EyeHealth #OcularMelanosis #PAM #ConjunctivalMelanoma #EyeCancerAwareness
