26yr healthcare worker here- radiology to be specific. We have to STOP treating healthcare like a restaurant business. It’s NOT about customer service- ITS about saving lives

I agree doc. Insurance companies and corporate medicine has squeezed every ounce of life and every penny possible out of healthcare workers and out of the patients we serve.

And 92% of patients are delaying care due to costs. Doctors need to go back to direct pay. There is no reason to let the insurance dictate the care you give

My PCP looked close to tears while explaining all the ways she tried to get my medicaid to cover my Wegovy. I know GLP1s are being shoved down everyone's throats but I've struggled with PMOS and obesity-related health issues since puberty and Wegovy genuinely helped. This woman is the first and only PCP I have ever had who didn't blame all my problems on my weight and didn't make it out like it was a personal failure of mine that I am unable to lose weight and keep it off. I sincerely hope she stays in the field because I actually feel heard/seen with her 😔

The irony is that if management actually listened to their frontline employees instead of focusing on revenue, we can help them achieve their goal and still do right by patients or “customers” as they refer

Ex-RN here! Left 3.5 years ago cause I couldn’t stand the system anymore. I was a damn good nurse, too. ICU and OR specialized. The system/organization/government do not care AT ALL! I couldn’t do it anymore. I couldn’t give the care I wanted or the care patients deserved.

need an MRI , take a vacation overseas to Asia or Mexico.. MRI's are very inexpensive and zero wait times in hospitals that will put you in awe and staff are mostly western trained and speak English

They are put through hell during their residency. Working 24 hour shifts. They are burnt out before they get started.

the conservative government wants healthcare to be as poor quality as possible so that they can slowly start increasing private healthcare, they are starving the public healthcare system on purpose

Thank you for making this important video. I’ve been a nurse for 43 years and still working although I’m now part time. I get called every single day I’m off and when I’m at work we work short. Who loses? The patient does! I’ve seen a huge change going back before 2000 that the system was starting to struggle. Bed closures, laying off nurses due to budget cut or hospital restructuring. 400 nurses were laid off from the Ottawa Hospital just this year. Canada’s healthcare is on life support. We use to have a good system but not anymore

please note the decline of the healthcare system & the implementation of Obamacare is not a coincidence. Obamacare expanded the role of government in health insurance & created new “revenue streams” for insurers (subsidies & managed care). think of it as private equity on steroids.

I waited 12 hours in the ER following up on complications with acute appendicitis. There are SO many problems with the entire process, it’s incredibly sad this has become normal and leaders have gutted the system versus lifting it up

In 2011, I was dx with MS within 5 days of onset of noticeable symptoms after being given the choice of inpatient or outpatient investigation and on meds for free in 2 months time. Today people are waiting years for diagnosis and are running into affordability issues with medication access in the same province.

Those of us with hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Doctors don’t believe us. Not being validated is the number one problem-and the EDS Society confirms this. 😭😭😭 I do agree the system needs to change. Our MLA office told me “we don’t want to involve politics with the medical profession” 😡😡
