@americantravelarchives: This might be the craziest concert venue we’ve ever been to… and nobody actually built it 🤯🎶 Follow americantravelarchives for more hidden gems, bucket list adventures, and America in 250. 🇺🇸 America in 250 | Episode 27 🇺🇸 📍 Red Rocks Amphitheatre – Morrison, Colorado Two enormous sandstone formations naturally created a massive outdoor amphitheater, and somehow the acoustics are just as incredible as the views. Some of the biggest names in music have performed here, including The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Jimi Hendrix, and John Denver. We got to see Zach Top and Megan Moroney here last September, and it easily became our favorite concert venue we’ve ever experienced. The stage surrounded by those towering red rocks is something you have to see in person. And even if there isn’t a concert happening, you can visit during the day and explore the amphitheater for free. ✨ Pro Tips: • Shows happen rain or shine, so bring layers and something waterproof. • Wear comfortable shoes — you may have a bit of a walk from parking. • Visit during the day even if you have concert tickets to experience the rocks without the crowds. • At over 6,000 feet in elevation, be prepared for the altitude. There are a lot of incredible concert venues across America, but Red Rocks is in a category of its own. Save this for your next Colorado trip and send it to someone who needs to see a concert here. 🎶
