I am a multi generational native of Nevada. For more than 150 years in Nevada this has never happened! Fires were not like this 10-15 years ago. And never happened in the 1970-2000. This is a land management disaster!!

My dad was in the wildfire service in Utah when he was in his 20s. he's got some CRAZY stories about how these fire tornado fights go down. apparently they are not uncommon.

how is that news, it happens every time I burn weeds on the ranch. it's pretty impressive when a swimming pool worth of tumbleweeds creates one, the bits raise in the hot air and catch fire while they swirl and it grows and moves cause its hauling its own fuel. the neighbors didn't think it was so cool, but they are California transplants, lol
