coaches put tape on the players doors the night before game day so they don’t go out , so when the coaches wake up that morning and see the tape is loose or off, they know that player went out after curfew, so that player won’t play

I believe the tape is used for as a curfew thing like the team can't leave there hotel room after the coach puts on the tape and if your tape is touched or moved they take u out the game as a punishment for breaking curfew rules. I could be wrong.
