I’m not Māori or fluent in the language but went to a school where we were taught Te Reo Māori in Primary school and it’s definitely the perfect time to start now - my daughter could count in Te Reo before she could count in English and I think that early exposure has helped her confidence in it. She also uses it in her everyday like she’ll refer to her food as Kai and sleep as “moe” and she’ll call me māmā more than she calls me mum. They’re the best at picking up language at this age - Tide has the best teacher in you 🥰
