The worst part is that I thought that turning 40 would lower the pressure but it somehow has turned it up? “No you still have time!” I also have a friend who says I need to foster teenagers if I’m not willing to have children of my own.

As a mother of 4, when someone tells me they don't want kids I've always been proud of them for making that decision. Kids are your entire life and if someone isn't willing to do that then they shouldn't. So, Bravo ❤️

I have 4 children. And I am a caregiver for my mom with dementia. I would never fucking do this to my kids. Anyone who asks you this is insane, and has never actually cared for someone.

my grandma birthed 11 children and none of them took the situation seriously when she was in the hospital in her final days, so yea I am living my best childfree life for my grandmas and ancestors who had no birth control or choice

My mom always asked who would take care of me and I told her I’d have money because I didn’t have kids so I would just pay someone to take care of me. That pretty much stopped the question from her.

I find it disturbing that I can say, with confidence, I’d be a terrible parent because children and responsibilities annoy me in a DEEP capacity and I would most likely not be able to hide that and people still want to try to convince you otherwise?? I want peace and quiet forever!!

100%! Plus having children doesn’t guarantee a caregiver in old age. The child could, god forbid, die before you, have a lifelong disability, become a serial killer, move away, etc etc. Kids are not for me, and I’m ok with that.

My sister-in-law has been trying to convince me to have kids ever since she had a kid. She's tried everything from "it's different when it's ur own kids" to "you think u love ur dog, but u have no idea what love is until u have a kid" to "my son needs cousins!" She won't leave me alone about it and it's infuriating. I'm not childfree b/c I "just don't know what I'm missing". I'm childfree b/c "I don't want kids!!!!!!"
