npc's more often than not don't even care if you do something "wrong" they're just offended that you don't want to mimic them.

Well npcs are busy cosplaying within their little heirachies, in order to feel relevant, and when you go off script they glitch out because without their little world, they cease to exist

Nah actually intelligent people can achieve what they want while appearing successful to the NPC. One rule for thee another for me. If people are perceiving you as some kind of idiot then you aren’t doing it right

As a person who is a critical thinker that's one of the reasons I barely get along with people.

Many people will think that they aren't an NPC because they dont "follow" the rules. But in reality even people that think outside the box are mostly NPCs. So yes anarchists are also NPCs 😅

Sometimes playing dumb is the best way to get left alone. There is a character in To Unalive A Mockingbird who drinks from a paper bag, leading everyone to believe he is the town drunk, and reveals at the end that he’s drinking soda. When people realize you’re a critical thinker, they get hostile and controlling. Easier to be a fool than an enemy.

Tbh bro, you’re right and wrong at the same time. It’s far, far more complicated than that. I could probably write an entire book about what you just said, and somehow use it to prove you both right and wrong. People who can think outside the box are everywhere. Even the people you might consider NPCs are capable of thinking differently and coming up with completely unexpected ideas. The question is, why should they bother changing their way of thinking when they’re comfortable with the way they already live? And honestly, I don’t think there’s anything inherently wrong with that. Even people you consider extremely open minded can actually be some of the most close minded people you’ve ever met. Their knowledge might simply be broader than that of most people, which makes them appear more open minded. And even when you think you’ve figured everything out, how could you ever know that you’re actually right? Even I can’t objectively tell whether I’m highly intelligent or just a stupid person who happens to think he’s intelligent. Nobody in my life has ever really been able to tell me that either. From your own perspective, you can never completely evaluate yourself. You need an outside perspective to challenge your thinking and tell you whether you’re right or wrong but then you also have to question whether that outside perspective is actually knowledgeable and open-minded enough to understand what you’re trying to say in the first place.
That’s what makes the whole thing so fucking complicated. Even when you think you’ve reached the answer, you can never be completely certain that you haven’t simply found another way to be wrong.

On the flip side there is a real danger of spiritual bypassing and living a life detached from consequence and reality. My brother is like that. Fully thinks he’s living 5D but can’t even manage basic human function and needs without support and would have a nervous breakdown with even a morsel of responsibility. The world is full of NPCs and scripts, but the most basic of traps is to do the opposite to support an identity of “I’m not like them”. I’m married, I have kids, I’ve followed certain scripts but I’ve also rejected many. It’s like a buffet - try a lot of stuff and filter what you don’t like but don’t be the guy that says I don’t do buffets because everyone else does.
