Everyone saying “died only to be known as green boots”, atleast he’s known. When I die, people won’t be like “oh that’s Jesse he worked in a deli and then made pizza”. They won’t know I ever existed or stopped existing. Atleast he contributes to the future of climbers who want to do what he did. He can be a milestone. More people see that then a tombstone

i think it’s selfish to climb mount everest for a so many reasons. if you do research on it, you have to pass bodies, some leave family members behind, and you have to spend tons of money and some people buy practically a slave to carry stuff for them and climb with them that are often mistreated and underpaid.
