Instead of making him weak, however, this restriction gave him physical abilities far beyond those of ordinary humans. His strength, speed, reflexes, senses, and durability are all incredibly powerful, allowing him to fight sorcerers who would normally be considered far above his level. Toji’s lack of cursed energy also makes him extremely difficult for sorcerers to detect, giving him a massive advantage when hunting his targets. Rather than fighting like a traditional jujutsu sorcerer, Toji approaches combat like an assassin, carefully studying his opponents and using preparation, weapons, and strategy to overcome even overwhelming disadvantages. Toji’s childhood and relationship with the Zenin clan played a huge role in shaping the person he eventually became. Despite being born into one of the most influential jujutsu families, Toji was treated as an outcast because he possessed no cursed energy. The Zenin clan placed enormous value on cursed techniques and inherited abilities, so someone like Toji was considered worthless despite his incredible physical potential. He was constantly looked down upon and mistreated by his family, which helped create his resentment toward the jujutsu world and especially toward the Zenin clan. Instead of trying to prove himself within their system, Toji eventually abandoned it completely and became a freelance assassin known for taking jobs involving sorcerers. His experiences with the Zenin clan helped turn him into someone who relied almost entirely on himself, refusing to depend on the same system that had rejected him. One of Toji’s greatest strengths is his intelligence in battle. When preparing to fight Satoru Gojo, Toji deliberately manipulated the situation so that Gojo would become exhausted before the actual battle. Toji also possesses an enormous collection of cursed weapons, including the Inverted Spear of Heaven, which is particularly dangerous because of its ability to nullify cursed techniques upon contact. However, their fight also shows that Toji is not invincible. After Gojo awakened his true potential and gained a deeper understanding of his techniques, the situation changed dramatically. Gojo eventually defeated Toji using Hollow Purple, proving that even someone as physically gifted and strategically brilliant as Toji could be surpassed by the strongest sorcerer.
