@meghannmcuniff: Psychiatric nurse practitioner Rebecca Jollotta testified today that she wanted Lindsay Clancy to seek therapy for her ongoing depression but never heard that she did. Jollotta said she was hesitant for Clancy to taper off her Seroquel prescription and said she was concerned Clancy was discharged from McLean Hospital psychiatric facility because "I do feel you could benefit from the groups and added support, separate even from medication changes." "In fact, if we're not going the medication route, I think groups and therapy are the treatment needed, as I feel the intrusive thoughts you've been having are nonetheless concerning, and I know they've caused you considerable distress," Jollotta said, reading from her MyChart written correspondence with Clancy. "I'm also on vacation next week, so I'm hesitant to start a taper when I am not available to you for questions and concerns. Again, I'm open to starting a taper, but I want to be available to you as it happens. You mentioned you are connected to your previous psychiatrist. Would that be someone to consult as well?" "And so, when you sent this message at 10:57, were you opposed to the idea of tapering the Seroquel?" asked Shanan Buckingham, an assistant state attorney in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. "I understood that it was helping her to sleep, and I also understood that she felt as though she was still depressed, and she wanted to to come off of it," Jollotta answered. "As far as coming off medication, was that something that you thought might be a good option for her?" Buckingham asked. "As I had expressed to her, I was hesitant. It could be done, but she would need a lot of what I would recommend to be group support, therapy, other types of treatment," Jollotta answered. "At that point, based on your interactions with her through the clinic, through all the messages, through the meetings that you've had, did you were you aware of whether she was getting any other support, like groups, other than Letitia Dukes and yourself?" Buckingham asked. "No," Jollotta answered. South Shore Hospital's Perinatal Behavioral Program offered programs, but "as far as your communications with her, did she report to you that she was attending any sort of groups or therapy at other places in the community?" Buckingham asked. "No," Jollotta answered. #law #crime #pharma

We can offer thousands of recommendations. It’s ultimately up to the patient to decide. Now we’re taking the stand for patients refusing ALL treatment? Lol

Therapy can be difficult to follow through for an individual if they’re experiencing voices, significant symptoms etc.

This woman was really struggling, and I completely relate. When you don't even have the bandwidth to function day-to-day, trying to fit in extra sessions or appointments—not to mention arranging childcare just to attend—is overwhelming. Add in the pressure from her husband to regain "closeness" (potentially by stopping medications that affect her libido), and her situation felt impossible.

I have not once heard any concern for Lindseys ability to care for tie children. Not one question about the kids.

I don't like that the partial hospitalization program didn't take Lindsay. I attended a PHP when I struggled with severe depression. It offered me group and individual therapy and med management. It was about 4 hours a day. I was on LOA from work due to my struggles. It's a step down from hospitalization. I'm not sure if it would have helped her or not, but it certainly would have been better than telehealth appointments.

I think Lindsey just wanted to stop being depressed with medication and it doesn’t work that way! and so she tries so many. She wasn’t just taking the meds, ahe had the ability to research and ask for what she wanted. I still haven’t heard she got any therapy.

The fact that she never saw any actual behavioral therapy makes me think. The husband was just looking for a bandaid to slap on her. drugs without therapy during this type of event is useless.
