I would have to disagree! The alfalfa has way better feed value for dairy cows! We also get 4 crops of alfalfa!

Stressed Johnson grass will kill horses and cattle. I won't take the chance. Ask the ranchers in Oklahoma that lost all their cattle after the drought a couple years ago.

3 Horses should not eat Johnsongrass because it contains toxins that can cause permanent nervous system damage, urinary tract issues, birth defects, and fatal poisoning when the plant is stressed by drought or frost

Sheep absolutely love Johnson grass! They will strip it down to the stem. When we rotate our pasture it’s always the first thing that gets gone lol.
