Recovery update: Yesterday was another big step forward. The surgery went well, and the doctors were able to get the wound closed enough to place a wound VAC over it. Now the real waiting game begins. Over the next couple of weeks, the biggest goal is making sure everything heals the way it’s supposed to. The hope is that the tissue stays healthy, the wound continues healing, and I don’t lose any more of my leg. I’ll be in the hospital for at least another two weeks while the doctors keep a close eye on everything, so I’m settling in for a longer stay than I was hoping for. This journey has tested me in ways I never imagined. There have been painful days, frustrating setbacks, and moments where I’ve had to lean on my faith more than ever. Through it all, God has remained faithful, and I’ve been blessed with an incredible team of doctors and nurses, along with family, friends, and so many people who have been praying, checking in, and encouraging me. I could NOT do this without all of you. The wound VAC isn’t exactly my favorite accessory, but if it helps me heal and gets me one step closer to walking again, I’ll happily deal with the extra tubing and the constant humming. 😂 And on a lighter note… if anyone has been looking for a reason to feed my LEGO addiction, I can confirm that hospital days are really long. 😅 LEGO sets would definitely help pass the time, but please don’t feel like you have to. Your prayers, messages, and support are more than enough. For anyone who has asked about visiting or sending something, I’m at Covenant Hospital Lubbock Texas, Mercy Tower, Room 688. Thank you all for continuing to walk this journey with me. We’re not at the finish line yet, but we’re moving in the right direction. One day at a time. God is still writing this story, and I know He isn’t finished yet. 💙🦿🙏
