In 2nd-4th grade I was very homophobic/transphobic and mildly racist towards other black people (I'm biracial just lightskin), I am now in 12th grade, am openly pan, use all pronouns, and my best friend is also black. Like...??? People can obviously change, I don't get how some people expect a person to change without ever giving them a chance or proper guidance. I probably would still be like that if my friend at the time didn't sit me down and explain the issues with my beliefs, we need to be able to have conversations to be able to change someone's mind.

the people who are overly woke and preach about "taking accountability" don't care if someone actually takes accountability and changes. They won't be satisfied until that person is completely and irreversibly ruined or just straight up dead, and even that isn't a guarantee. It's honestly disgusting how black and white everyone sees things now.

Racism is a big a deal and poc should never be expected to HAVE to forgive someone who said something racist BUT if you constantly drag the person who did those things through the mud and claim they’re “still racist” even tho they’ve apologized and made an obvious effort to change YOU don’t WANT change. Becoming a better person is possible but people can’t except that because they think someone has to be entirely good or entirely bad. People with this mindset think they’re perfect people who’ve never done wrong

It honestly depends but it’s clearly easy for some groups of people to forgive problematic people (not talking abt Albert hes definitely learned) but like sometimes yall forgive someone who did racist things too fast when it doesn’t even effect you
