As someone who's read a decent amount of Regressor/Reincarnation Manhwas: The Main character typically returns to the past or is reincarnated into a game/novel and has future knowledge of the world and relationships and uses said knowledge to foster those relationships once more and also get stronger to save the world and what not, the biggest question I have is "Are relationships with people who don't know you but you know a lot of acceptable?" It is a bit weird, self-serving and lacks authenticity when they do have these relationships with characters and it's an interesting conversation to be had. And to me, What Peter did was accept that that kind of relationship was wrong; The person he loved is no longer - Memory wiped of Peter Parker, so she essentially became a different MJ. An MJ that doesn't know and never knew Peter Parker. Even if he does rekindle the relationships he previously once had, it would be a kind of cope and imposing of his feelings of grieve and loss of his former relationships OVER two entirely new people/versions of Ned and MJ - Projecting his former relationships onto entirely new individuals But that kinda back tracks at the end of the movie where it seems like Ned realizes Peter is Peter through their handshake.
