we had towels on our couch because my male cat was peeing everywhere (thankfully he doesn’t anymore) but the towels had string coming from it because the cats would play with the part that hung off the couch. Point is my girl cat somehow wrapped the string from the towel around her neck and i came back home, looked at her, she looked a lil off so I approached and realized she wasn’t breathing, just staring at me. I investigated and found the string SOOOO tight around her neck i couldn’t even fit my nail under it to cut. I started screaming crying and had to shove the tip of tiny eyebrow scissors under it just to cut the string. She started dry heaving once the string was cut and making crazy noises i was bawling my eyes out i felt terrible. To make matters worse right before going inside to discover her, i was contemplating driving to tj maxx to shop, had I of done that she’d 100% not be here. anyway cats are resilient and i’m just happy she’s here.

Can’t stand all these ppl victim blaming. You should be able to buy a new cat tree from ANYWHERE and it should not leave your cat with three legs. Like?? Safety is literally the bare minimum and it’s not the consumer who’s to blame, it’s the supplier.

my cat almost died to a blinds drawstring, thank god his brother started freaking out (and less helpfully) attacking him which got our attention. Mr Self-hanger is now 19

oh hun, our cat had her leg amputated bc of a splinter from some wooden thing in our house... I cried so much when we got home with her and she screamed from the pain. I kept saying "im sorry. im sorry" even tho i didnt do anything. Its heartbreaking

My cat got tangled on the Christmas tree lights while I had gone to Walmart. I was gone 2 almost 3 hours and by the time I got home idk how long he had been stuck like that and the Christmas tree fell in top of him and he had been bleeding for idk how long. He hasn’t been the same since but he’s okay now and traumatized of the Christmas tree but I have a new kitten that I have to make get scared of the tree now 😣

My cat had his leg amputated from falling off of a specially made cat shelf at the cat shelter. He was the first cat it ever happened to there. Accidents happen. Don’t beat yourself up.

As someone with a tripod, it’s not your fault. Don’t blame yourself. I blamed myself for years for what happend to beef. I was in an abusive relationship and when he realized physically hurting me didn’t affect me anymore he went after my whole heart. It’s been almost 4 years and she’s thriving, fat, and happy as can be

My cat fell off the second floor at night and we had to euthanize him cause his back leg was broken really badly :( I always think what if we tried harder in some way

I adopted a shelter cat and fed it what the shelter said to. I had an emergency vet visit because he was allergic to it and scratched his face off damn near. The vet that saw him injected him with antibiotics he was also allergic to and proceeded to bloody both sides of his face and nearly lose an eye. New vet found the root cause and he is much better. My point of this story is its not your fault. A chain of events led to both our cats seeking medical help. Dont let these assholes make you feel responsible. You nor the boyfriend did intentional harm to your baby.
