well said Jen. I feel the same. I grew up constantly being told and knowing I wasn't wanted and being beaten on in all manner or ways. I remember the desperation I felt begging them not to hurt me and the shatter I felt inside when they hit me harder for it. I'm still so sad and angry. My daughter knows some of my past, and she can see scars that are too big for me to hide, but I did the work. I'm doing the work still. This was a generational pattern of maternal abuse, and it stops with me. My daughter's life looks so much different than mine did. and that was the whole point ❤️

It took me a long time to forgive my parents. I had to. To move on so I could establish healthy relationships in my life. I know based on their limitations they did the best they could. And I’ve had to forgive them many times over as I heal. Sending you support and kindness as you heal too
