I really wish women would stop telling little girls that your period stops when you're in water, it doesn't fucking work that way. You won't notice it as much in the water bc it's constantly being washed away from you in a huge body of water so it's basically nothing, but it is STILL FLOWING.

My stepdad was the only one home when I got mine. It was too heavy for me to hide so I told him and he told me to prove it and made me show him my underwear because he didn’t believe me. I also had an extremely heavy flow and had to change my tampon every hour but I had to ASK for new ones and he would tell me I was lying and didn’t need one yet so I’d be sitting in it for 2 extra hours.
