Maybe u popular opinion, but if you need your job more than the boundary, you shouldn't have it/enforce it. Sounds bad but survival comes first! Make sure you have a job before making sure you have a good job.

Some low performers ARE told but their manager isn't quite direct/mean enough and they don't get it. I've seen people think a firing came out of nowhere. They were on a fucking PIP.

So the problem wasn’t the advice. The problem was that boundaries go both ways and they weren’t prepared for that. They weren’t prepared to be held accountable for their own performance or lack there of.

“Setting boundaries” has become more of a “TikTok therapy” trendy buzzword and swayed from its true intentions. Setting boundaries does not include refusing to do your assigned duties or putting demands on others.
