@malloryledbetter: 10 things I don’t regret about our untraditional intimate wedding in Charleston 💍🤍 1. No bridal party: I didn’t want anyone to feel forced to make the trip or spend money that they didn’t need to since it was planned so quickly. Plus so much added stress on color schemes and styles, etc that I was able to just skip altogether. 2. Experiencing a new city together: he loved the history & I loved the scenery!! I loved learning about the city that will always hold this special place in my heart. ❤️ 3. Only inviting two friends: since we only had 3 weeks of planning, we needed to know pretty quickly what our head count would be for rentals + I didn’t want anyone to feel obligated to make the trip last minute or feel out of place. 4. Paying for our family to have a vacation: we booked the rooms for a few days after the wedding so everyone was able to split up and enjoy the city while they were there. Some took advantage of it and others didn’t but we loved spending time with our family for those few days🥹 5. Morning brunch: I loved seeing everyone before the wedding. It felt so special to be able to spend time with each of them beforehand since the rest of the day would involve a lot of pictures and getting ready! We did this at one of the houses we rented with the most STUNNING property I’ve ever seen. 6. No catering: we saved thousands on this alone!! I’m not huge on wedding food and since we were having no reception it kind of didn’t make sense anyways! Hence why we had breakfast! 7. No reception: this saved so much headache. Booking a local boat cruise with food + live music saved us the hassle of dealing with more vendors!! Dj, band, catering, reception venue, random things to keep everyone interested, etc.. (we ended up actually missing the boat and didn’t go at all but I still don’t regret the decision) 8. No rehearsal dinner or parties beforehand: this all makes wedding planning so much more stressful, especially without a bridal party to help with planning and prepping.. between rehearsal dinner, couples showers, engagement parties, bachelorette/bachelor trips, the cost adds up and we saved so much time, money, and stress just avoiding it altogether. 9. Three weeks of planning: tbh it was stressful, however, I’m a procrastinator so I feel like I would have waited until the last three weeks to plan it anyways and would have been just as stressed. I enjoyed planning it while the excitement was still there and it made the experience much more surreal! 10. Saving thousands: kind of self explanatory. I splurged where I wanted and saved for all the things I thought were unnecessary. The day felt like it was about us and what’s important and I didn’t stress any of the little things bc I was able to enjoy marrying the love of my life without a worry in the world.

I’m still so pleased with our choice to also skip all of the wedding hoopla!!! We got married at his grandparents land and it ended up on the porch because it was one of the stormiest days we had last summer! These pictures are so beautiful!!!! 🤍
